You’ve seen them–leather leggings. It’s a fashion staple at this point. The original Spanx trend started years ago and is still going strong. Honestly, I caved myself and spent the $100 on a pair myself. But maybe that’s not you–maybe you want to save the money but still achieve the look. Well, have no fear; I’ve included my most comparable Spanx leather leggings dupes that won’t break the bank.
Walmart Spanx leather leggings Dupes
Walmart has been my go-to recently for finding designer-like dupes. The Walmart Spanx dupe is a no-brainer at under $20. AT $15.96 USD, these are the lowest price point I’ve seen without completely losing quality.
Target Spanxs leather leggings Dupes
Target also carries a similar Spanx leggings dupe, roughly $2 more than Walmart’s. I’m wearing the Target version in all my photos in this blog post.
The Dupes vs. The Original
At this point, I’m sure you know what I’m going to say– you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, in the fashion world, this is unremarkably true. As someone who’s invested in Spanx, I can say some differences exist. The original Spanx are made thicker and have a compression-like feel to them. Spanx has the alluring “tummy-tuck” feel and does not budge throughout the wear. Sadly, the affordable competitors are leggings with a faux leather look that will achieve your outfit goals, but I’ve noticed they do not stay up easily. I found myself readjusting them throughout the day as if you were pulling tights up from the ankle. Also, I did not find them to be long enough. I’m 5’9”, and these were at least an inch above my ankle, so I opted for a Chelsea boot for styling to hide this fact.
If anything, I’d say for under $20 USD; you can make an affordable fashion-forward Spanx leggings outfit with these Spanx leather leggings dupes from Walmart or Target.
