I’m constantly scrolling through websites like Pottery Barn or Crate & Barrel falling in love one piece at a time. However, my bank account is a quick reminder that some basics, like candles, can be a bit of a splurge. So when I came across this potter at Walmart, I immediately ran home to craft this DIY modern home decor table candle.
This post is all a tutorial for the easiest modern home decor–the table candle. I will tell you that some of these can cost over $150. My mother was so impressed that this was a DIY project of mine. She said this table candle looked like it was from a luxury store. I will walk you through making the perfect modern table candle for your home!
MODERN TABLE CANDLE EXAMPLES
These examples below were my inspiration for this modern home decor DIY. Shockingly, some of these will cost you upward of $100. However, I prefer my version since you can change out the candles, whereas the premade versions are a one-and-done product.
THE MATERIALS
Most of your material needs can be found at home or on your next grocery run. My rocks are from Dollar Tree and have many options, from matte white to shiny black pebbles.
- Planter
- Packing paper
- 16 oz candle
- Rock filler –my rocks can be found here.
Find the exact matches to the planter and candles I like at the bottom of this post
MODERN HOME DECOR DIY STEPS
There’s an instructional video below for all of my audiovisual learners. Otherwise, follow the steps below:
- Stuff the bowl of the planter with your filling paper.
- Set your candle in the center of the bowl
- Completely cover your paper with rocks of your choosing
- You’re Done!
With hope, this post brought you some inspiration or moved you into your next DIY project!
