If you’re in a dedicated relationship or are out in the dating world, you have probably gone to your closet to pick out a “date night” outfit. The goal is usually to hit a balance between romantic and flirty, right? It’s even harder in the winter months to perfectly achieve that combo. I was shocked when I came across this Walmart outfit.
I’m all about a Walmart fashion find, but often, I feel like many items are constructed cheaply. I’ll say without reserve that I’m a spoiled gal, and I like nice things, but not always for the price tag. When we [that us] can get away with a runway dupe, then that’s a home-run in my book.

1. Sizing
Accurate sizing is a hallmark of any high-quality item. This is a personal rule for me, and I’ve seen it repeatedly, but classic mis-sizing is a big red flag for cheaply crafted items. For example, if you’ve ever ordered from sites that source from overseas, you might call an S or M and when it arrives, find that it is a Korean size S or M. Good luck getting your leg through those pants! This outfit was true to size for me. I’m nearly 5′ 9″, size 2-4, and wear a 32 D-DD bra size. That being said, I XS in the top and S in the skirt fit perfectly as I’d expect. There was no awkward bunching at the shoulders (typical for items made for petite individuals), and the length of the skirt was suitable for where my hips sit. However, this does prompt me to caution anyone that this co-ord may be intended for taller individuals.
2. Quality of Construction & Fabric
Fabric, Fabric, Fabric! I feel confident that this material will last a dry cleaning or two. Heck, it may even withstand a standard wash cycle. I also feel like the design is incredibly flattering to the female body. The top sucked in all the right places and gave where it should—meaning, my stomach was flattered by the tight cinch of the fabric, but my chest and shoulders were forgiving. The turtleneck height was also comfortable and did not strangle at the top.
3. Color and Photographability
This color is rich and sultry and stands up against a flash and edits. The color is suitable for a wide range of skin tones and complexions. Also, I firmly believe that a high-end or well-constructed item photographs well. You won’t see it bunching or pulling when you maneuver around. It should stay relatively put from position to position. I felt that not only the top but the skirt passed this test. The sleeves did not immediately pull upward with the movement of arms, and the skirt didn’t hike to the high heavens when I sat down. You can rest easy that from anywhere across the room, you’ll be sure to impress.
